Performances are always optional. There are some members who love to perform as it can bring a sense of achievement and connection with other singers and the audience. But there are others who'd rather simply enjoy the well-being benefits of the weekly singing sessions. There is never any pressure to perform, however even those coming to a choir for the first time who are stage shy can find their feet and their voice on the stage!
Performance at RE:SET
In our first year we were invited to perform overlooking the sea in Cornwall at RE:SET festival and performed a whole set of songs supported by Rob Pemberton on drums

Ode to nature
We brought nature into St Ambrose Church with field recordings and sound sculptures by Sam Dickison (mossy stone beats, red kite song and midnight owls), and an evolving nature altar created by Mel Shearsmith

Fundraiser for Palestine
Oak choir performed at the Folkhouse in Bristol and raised £1900 for Palestine. Their set included a protest song called Paint the Sky by Rachael

St Werberghs Summer Fair
Oak were invited to open the main stage at St Werburghs Summer Fair and we did it so joyfully with a repertoire to celebrate nature and the solstice

Singing under the trees
Both of our weekly choirs are by beautiful bristol parks - St George's Park and Victoria Park - and it's a deeply restorative experience to sing in a circle beaneath the trees. Sometimes we make foraged tea to share.

fashion on earth
Oak were invited to perform in Bristol Cathedral beneath Luke Jerram's Gaia for the ethical fashion event Fashion on Earth. We sung our repertoire for the catwalk, with the amazing acoustics of Bristol Cathedral

Performing at BUDDHAFIELD
Oak have performed at Buddhafield twice. Each time a highlight has been warming up and singing through the songs in the Glade to people resting in hammocks in the dappled shade

Six monthly Saturday sessions starting in September, designed for singers who'd like to spend longer with the music, explore new ideas and become part of a smaller group that we'll build together over time

Join us in the glow for an afternoon of songs for our times, celebrating three years of OAK Choir. Begin with an inclusive singing workshop, followed by performances at The Mount Without
